Vernacular Jazz

Vernacular Jazz goes back to the late 1800’s and early 1900’s, it comes from the roots, the native movement of Jazz. This dance is made up of improvisational solo or partnered steps. Dances that came from Vernacular Jazz were the Cake Walk, Texas Tommy, the Charleston and the Lindy Hop, just to name a few.
