Level: All levels
Wednesdays 12:15-1:00p
Location: Suite J
Pain relief and realignment for dancers.
Feldenkrais is a mobility modality that connects the dots between movement, proprioception, and emotion. Basically you’re going learn to use your body better for dancing, life, or to relieve pain. The group classes are really fun and meditative.
Whether you’re a new or seasoned dancer, recovering from pain or injury, or just looking to improve your overall mobility, this class offers a gentle yet powerful way to enhance your movement journey.
In these Feldenkrais® For Better Movement classes, you’ll be gently and slowly guided through a series of mindful, exploratory movements aimed at increasing your body awareness and refining your movement patterns. Each class is a journey into how you move, helping you find more ease, flexibility, and coordination in everyday life and on the dance floor.
With Darcia—who brings over 30 years of experience, including her background in pain management, stress reduction, and teaching in the dance department at Chapman University—you’ll also discover how these gentle lessons can transform your dancing, movement, and your life!
This class is appropriate for anyone looking for more active mind/body movement with specific application to balance, posture, and dancing.
Wear loose, comfortable clothing.
Bring your own mat & curiosity!
Appropriate for all levels, most classes require getting up/down from floor.

The Feldenkrais Method was developed by Dr. Moshé Feldenkrais (1904–1984), a Ukrainian-born Israeli physicist, engineer, and martial artist. Its origin is a unique blend of high-level science and martial arts discipline, born out of a personal crisis in the 1940s.
