Milonga Rouge sets the tone for the SoCal Tango Championship. A polished, energized night where dancers gather, connect, and step into the weekend ahead. Hosted by Lauren Woods & Shesha Marvin, this pre-party brings together refined music, a vibrant floor, and unmistakable opening-night momentum.

With a musical style shaped by Buenos Aires and New York, DJ Rainier Pereira delivers elegant, driving tandas that keep the floor alive and the energy moving—perfect for launching a championship weekend.
Rainier’s tango roots run deep—from Buenos Aires in 2014, co-hosting the legendary Cachivachería Milonga, to DJing festivals and milongas across Europe starting in 2017. Since moving to the U.S. in 2020, he’s become one of the most in-demand DJs on the East Coast, celebrated for high-impact sets that ignite dance floors nationwide

THEME & DRESS CODE:
Black, cream, metallics, clean lines, and elevated evening looks. Semi-formal attire and dance shoes required. No jeans or t-shirts on the dance floor.

Practica Rouge is ATOMIC Ballroom’s guided Argentine Tango practica, happening Sundays (except 1st Sundays) from 8:30–10:30 PM, hosted by Lauren Woods, Jessica Wilbert, and Shesha Marvin. Expect a structured 2-hour practice night with instructors and assistants available for instant feedback, plus a community potluck buffet, Tanda Specials, and games to keep the vibe fun and connected. Weekly guest DJs feature only three orchestras each night (including modern picks), danced in three-song tandas. $16 or 1 Cover Charge, and it’s included when you take a class beforehand.
