The holidays are happening at ATOMIC with a series of wintery wonderland themed workshops to get you in a festive mood and have you ready to show off a slew of fun new moves at all of your holiday events.
You won’t want to miss our Holiday Jazz Revue Workshop on Saturday, December 17th from Noon until 3:15 pm. Led by Elizabeth Parker, this beginning/intermediate session will arm you with a great foundation of basic jazz and musical theater movement. You will also learn about formations, retaining choreography, putting together awesome costumes and the ins and outs of working with a dance group! In addition, you may also get to perform this special holiday routine at one of the ATOMIC BALLROOM evening dances! And if unable to perform, you can still learn the routine to keep in your arsenal; plus no partner is needed! And if you register by December 16th, the entire workshop is just $50 or 5 punches from your punchcard.
As the winter chill sets in, come experience ATOMIC’s Winter Wonderland with Mikey Pedroza and Nikki Marvin. In this intermediate Group Performance Workshop you will learn a Lindy Hop Routine to Winter Wonderland and you will perform the routine to live music at our Lindy Christmas dance on December 23rd with Jonathan Stout and his Campus Five!
Additional practices may be scheduled the following week as needed and performance is not required to take the workshop.Although no partner is required you are encouraged to invite your friends. The whole workshop is $50 or 5 punches from your Punch Card if you pre-register. Your Winter Wonderland awaits on Saturday, December 17th, 2022 from 12:00 pm – 3:15 pm at ATOMIC!
And last but certainly not least is the Lindy Christmas Dance, the most popular night of swing dancing in Southern California! Come ring in the holidays with festive favorites like an ugly sweater contest, enjoying tasty treats and dancing along to the dazzling sounds of Jonathan Stout and his Campus Five Ft. Hilary Alexander at 9:00 pm! You can even have a dance with Lindy Santa (which can’t be done just anywhere)! As it’s highly unlikely you’d get a dance with your traditional, local mall Santa! You can also brush up on the basics of Lindy Hop, Balboa, Charleston and other swing dances by taking group classes; or advanced classes for seasoned dancers. No partner is needed, and no experience is required! Entry is just $15 Pre-Sale, $20 at the door, or $10 with a group class.
The very special Lindy Christmas Dance will be from 6:15 pm – 12:00 am on Friday, December 23rd to usher in even more festive fun for the holidays!
