Get those costumes and goodie bags ready because fall is upon us and so is ATOMIC’s Halloween Spooktacular schedule of events! From an entire week of special themed dances, to costume contests and more, Halloween week is set to deliver many treats for the whole family.
In a place that is already filled with sweet treats all year long, Halloween at ATOMIC is an extra special time that is so sweet, just the thought can give you cavities! The regularly scheduled day and evening group classes will be followed by the evening social dances at 8:30 PM. However during Halloween week, the social dances will be transformed into a bootiful scene.
Beginning with the Monster Mash Milonga Sunday, October 25, Argentine Tango enthusiasts can turn the dramatic flair up an extra notch with ultra sultry costumes and music. On Tuesday, October 26th, join the Swing Spooktacular, where a little extra life is breathed into even the stiffest corpse. Wednesday’s Salsa night adds some extra spice with a live band for the sizzling hot Salsalloween night. The most lifeless body could be brought back from the dead with Thursday’s Country Fright Night. While the Night of the Living Lindy Hop on Friday, October 30th will keep you on your toes as if you found bats in your barn or bed! The weeks theme nights come to a close on Saturday, October 31st with a ghoulishly glamorous affair, Dancing with the Ghouls Ballroom. A costume contest will be held each night, with prizes awarded for Best Costume, Most Original and Best Group Ensemble. Winners will receive a regular punch card worth a whopping 10 group classes!
Can you believe that the fun doesn’t end with this jam packed week? Yes, there’s more! Throughout the month of October special classes to learn Michael Jackson’s iconic Thriller dance will be offered. Part 1 of the routine will be taught on Wednesday’s at 7:45 PM, with part 2 immediately after at 8:30 PM. Part 1 will also be taught on Sunday’s at 4:45 PM, with part 2 beginning at 5:30 PM. For those wanting to move at faster pace, accelerated classes will be offered on Tuesday’s at 9:15 PM and Friday’s at 8:30 PM. With all of those choices anyone can master this legendary dance in time to perform it at the Halloween themed dance socials on Tuesday 10/27, Wednesday 10/28 and Friday 10/30 night. Don’t want to perform? Then just do it for fun!
