So you are interested in swing music, but don’t know where to start? Follow us after the break for a quick list of some (by no means any where near complete list) of my favorite traditional and contemporary swing artists.

• Benny Goodman
• Duke Ellington
• Count Basie
• Lionel Hampton
• Luis Russel
• Frankie Trumbauer
• Sidney Bechet

Those are a great place to start, and by no means the only ones out there. I’m personally drawn to the orignal sounds, 1930’s – 1940’s.  But there are a lot of modern bands out there that do a great job of replicating the sounds of the swing era.
