Hollywood comes to life in living color and culture, in all its splendor, with the fifth edition of the Los Angeles Culture Festival, also known as Hollywood Carnival. Each year the already vibrant area bursts with color and contrast as revelers fill the streets for a weekend of music, dance and more.

The LA Culture fest is a non-profit organization put together for educational, charitable, cultural and entertainment purposes. Its mission statement is to promote diversity, cultural awareness and unity in the community with fundraisers and events that bring people together from all walks of life for a common goal.

Countless cultures are celebrated through world dance, music, art and food. The main festivities are kicked off by a street parade featuring various artistic and community groups, each showcasing a particular style of dance or music, along with floats adorned with colorful decorations and themes. Watching the eccentrically costumed characters prance about is a highlight for many, as well as the live music and performances. Following the parade, the streets fill with vendors selling international food and drink, alongside artisans displaying unique trinkets and goods.

An all ages event, this cultural explosion has a little something for everyone and is fun for the whole family. Once the street fair winds down, after-parties abound all over town. DJ music and dance parties at nearby clubs like Ohm and OEU Skyspace LA continue on through the late night hours. With an entire weekend filled with food and festivities, Hollywood Carnival is an ideal place to take in the sights, sounds and smells of the rich culture that the Los Angeles area has to offer.
