You Have 2 More Chances to Learn the Thriller Dance
Do you want to be part of a record-breaking event? Thrill the World seeks to break the world record for simultaneous dance of Michael Jackson’s Thriller routine with thousands of participants in cities and countries all over the world! As Halloween approaches it’s time to get possessed by the spirit of fright, so get ready for Thrill the World 2012!
Atomic Ballroom has been a proud supporter for these past 4 years – turning dance students into ghoulish zombies – so come join us to learn and perform the routine!
The Inspiration
Learn the Thrill the World Choreography
You still have two chances to come out to Atomic Ballroom with your friends and family to learn the official Thrill the World Choreography. The dance is slightly different from the music video – in order to accommodate 5 minutes of dancing in 32 counts of music – but is super easy to learn. This Wednesday at 7 pm, teachers will have a two part class to break down the movements for you. And if you’re in the mood for something more accelerated, pop by on Friday at 8:30 pm for an accelerated class.
Perform the Routine
Before participating in an official Thrill the World event (see below) you can show-off your stuff with your other Atomic classmates. There will be performances at…
- Night of the Living Lindy Hop – Friday, October 26th
- Swing Spooktacular – Tuesday, October 30th
- Salsalloween – ON HALLOWEEN, Wednesday, October 31st
Participate in the Official Thrill the World Flash Mob in Los Angeles
Now that you’ve learned the routine, join all of Southern California in this massive official event in coordination with Thrill the World dancers around the world! Saturday, October 27th at 9 am there will be costume and make-up available, plus more lessons for newcomers, then at 11 am it’s official Thrill Time!
Pre-register for the event to be counted among the record holders, then head out to Long Beach’s Marina Green Park – Off Ocean Blvd and Shoreline – for the killer time of your life!
And if you’re really looking for something special to do on Halloween, there will be another flash mob at The Staples Center during the Clippers game! For less than $16, Thrill the World Los Angeles participants will be able perform for all the fans at half-time! How cool is that!?
…just for fun
