The final five couples competed last night on DWTS and they decided to really mix things up.
Each couple faced the challenge of dancing a dance that they’ve never danced before, but of course, as seems to be typical this season, there was a catch. A really big catch. None of the dancers knew what song they were dancing their second song to until 30 minutes before they hit the stage.
I have to say I’m really impressed with the work and musicality that the dancers managed to put together in such a short time period, and several of the pairs earned 10s for their dancing.
However, it’s remaining to be seen whether Jennifer Grey is going to be able to finish DWTS injury-free. She’s been suffering from acute tendonitis although you wouldn’t know it on the dance floor. But Brandy and Maks once again wowed the judges, earning two 10s for their beautiful and touching waltz. But it’s anyone’s game and tonight’s results should be interesting. Bristol Palin, who I’ve expected to be booted off the show for weeks has still managed to survive, and although Kyle and Lacey performed amazingly they might not have enough of the votes to keep going.
Here are the scores from last night’s competition and as always, you can catch all the dances here:
Team Baby Derek — Jennifer & Derek: 27 (Quickstep) + 30 (Instant Rumba) = 57
Team Bran DMC — Brandy & Maks: 29 (Waltz) + 28 (Instant Cha Cha) = 57 [tie]
Team Schmurgles — Kyle & Lacey: 27 (Viennese Waltz) + 29 (Instant Jive) = 56
Team KURTanna — Kurt & Anna: 24 (Waltz) + 24 (Instant Cha Cha) = 48
Team Ballin’ — Bristol & Mark: 24 (Argentine Tango) + 23 (Instant Samba) = 47
Tonight we’ll find out who will be the four remaining couples and who will be exiting the dance floor for the last time.
