Michael Benner started studying ballet and modern dance at a young age. After 3 years there he moved on to learn swing dancing in his high school years, performing in shows and exhibitions. Eventually he became the instructor for the non-profit swing group he was learning from. After several years as a swing dancer, Michael moved on and trained in all of the ballroom dances to be a better rounded dance instructor. along the way he has competed in Ballroom(American Smooth and Rhythm), Lindy Hop, and Salsa, landing himself a few Finalist placements in the professional categories.
Since he started teaching dance in 2010, Michael has developed a love for teaching all forms of dance, to all students. Well known for his ability to break dance steps down to their simplest components, and his eye-rolling sense of humor, Michael enjoys teaching social and competitive dance, choreographing routines and wedding dances, and helping his students find their own way to their goals through dancing.
