Since the age of four, Kat’s life has revolved around dance and performance. After seeing “The Nutcracker” with her kindergarten class, she was inspired by the beauty of the ballet dancers and enrolled in classes at Madame Linska’s Ballet School. Later on in her childhood, she trained and competed heavily in traditional Irish step dancing, eventually placing in a national competition and competing at the World Championships in Philadelphia. Throughout high school, Kat was an active member of the dance team and the theater program. As a high school student, Kat dreamed of pursuing Broadway and starting a career in the world of musical theater. However, at the age of sixteen, Kat bid goodbye to her passion for the stage to feed a desire she had held for years: exploring the world of ballroom dancing.
Ballroom opened an entire new world, and Kat knew she had found what the rest of her life was going to be about. After two years as a dedicated student, Kat began her career as a professional Ballroom dancer and instructor at the age of eighteen. She is very happy to be able to do what she loves every day as well as share her love of dance with all who have a desire to learn.
Kat also attended California State University, Fullerton in 2011 as a Physics major. Most of her time is dedicated dancing, although you will occasionally find her playing video games, reading fantasy novels, or throwing dice in a Dungeons & Dragons game. Otherwise, she’s teaching her students with plenty of smiles, laughs, corny jokes, and doing her best to instill in students her ever-growing love for dance.
