Guide to Labor Day Events in Orange County

If you’re looking for something to do this weekend beside the obligatory backyard barbecue, then check out what’s happening around town!  There is music, dancing, food fairs and family friendly entertainment all around Orange County.  And if your desperate to visit the Atomic Family, we’ll be having classes, workshops and dances all weekend long.

Wrap up the summer with some fun in sun!  And have a Safe and Happy Labor Day Weekend!

3 Things to do this Labor Day Weekend

1. Summer Concerts in the Park
The Mike Henebry Orchestra feat. Ginger Pauley
Sunday – Huntington Beach, CA

Don’t miss the big band sounds of The Mike Henebry Orchestra featuring Ginger Pauley at this FREE Concert in Huntington Central Park. Bring your family, friends, chairs, blankets and dancing shoes to the band shell behind the Central Park Library. There are picnic tables and grills nearby, so make it party and swing the night away under the stars.  Follow the event on Facebook!

2. Orange International Street Fair
Friday, Saturday and Sunday – Orange, CA

The Orange International Street Fair Right kicks off an end of summer celebration in Orange’s historic downtown district (around the corner from the old Strutter’s Ball location).  This annual three day food and beer festival is one of my favorite food fairs!  Each of the Orange Circle’s crossroads is themed: Mexican, Greek, German, Norwegian, Asian and Irish to celebrate local history and culture.  And there is live music on stages at every corner.  Families can enjoy arts & crafts while adults can sample tasty alcoholic beverages.  Since 1973, this event has attracted visitors from all over Southern California, so don’t miss it!

3. Los Angeles County Fair

August 31- September 30, 2012 – Pamona, CA

The LA County Fair is open this Labor Day Weekend at the Pamona Fairgrounds!  While it’s just beyond the Orange County Line, this event is a favorite of Southern Californians.  There is the usual fair food, entertainment, rides and livestock, but this year you can LEARN the art of TRAPEZE!  There is gourmet wine & food lectures or tastings.  Rodeos.  And Rock of Ages.  With plenty of live music, there is bound to be a great band for swing, country two-steps, and salsa.  For 90 years this fair has been turning out the fun – so get there before it’s gone!

Come Dance at Atomic Ballroom this Labor Day Weekend!

We will be having regularly scheduled classes as well as social dances and workshops over the weekend.  So if you want to escape the sun in a nicely air-conditioned ballroom to brush up on your dancing skills, then head on over to Atomic Ballroom!
