Shesha Marvin - the first Lindy Hopper in space!

I am thrilled and delighted to report that Shesha Marvin is the first  Lindy Hopper on the moon!

Shesha was selected by NASA as part of a special program to test the viability of humans eventually colonizing the moon.  This particular mission wanted to test how low and zero gravity would affect the average swing dancer.

Once the capsule landed, Shesha was heard to say “One small step for man – one giant leap for swing dancers.  Swing heil!”  He then completed a swing-out with an unsuspecting astronaut over the Sea of Tranquility.  He said that the moon’s lower gravity made it a great place to practice aerials, and he was hoping to expand the ATOMIC Ballroom to include a lunar location.

Shesha got to meet an intergalactic relative, one Marvin the Martian.

But one of the biggest surprises of all was that Shesha got to meet an intergalacticrelative, who was looking for a Illudium Q-36 Explosive Space Modulator.  He babbled something about a plot to destroy the earth before joining Shesha in some solo Charleston.

The training doesn’t stop there. Once they land, the experiment will continue as NASA tests Shesha’s ability to dance after returning to full-gravity.

Congratulations, Shesha, on being an inspiration to dancers everywhere, and for taking Frank Sinatra as seriously as we do.  “It wasn’t enough to just listen to Frank sing ‘Fly Me to the Moon.’  I knew that if I wanted to be the Lindy Hopper I knew I could be, I had to actually go to the moon,” said Shesha.
