John Mills (1912-2011) shaped the swing and bal world.

Last week the swing world lost one of their own.  I am sad to report that John Mills passed away in the early hours of Friday morning.

John Mills was a legendary dancer and performer and one of the most accomplished dancers I’ve ever seen.  He revolutionized Lindy Hop, Balboa, and tap.  He was also one heck of a nice guy and was always encouraging to beginner dancers.  The one time I was privileged to dance with him he was nothing but a consummate gentleman, absolutely hilarious and such a passionate dancer.

John and his wife, Ann Mills, an amazing Lindy and Bal dancer in her own right, could often be found dancing around SoCal.

ATOMIC’s own Nick Williams posted a blog about John’s passing, which says more than I ever could.

I send out good thoughts and prayers to Ann during this difficult time and please take a few moments today to remember one of our own.  Watch the video below and you’ll see John’s style and passion for swing dancing.
