Int Salsa Series B – Adding Style
Over the years, salsa dancing has developed different styles for the different regions where it is danced – Los Angeles’ salsa is different than New York’s salsa, which is different still from Cuba’s salsa. This class starts with ways we can add style to moves to LA style salsa, but the following weeks discuss styling and timing differences between New York style salsa (referred to as “On-2”), Cuban style salsa, and other more exotic salsa styling ideas from Puerto Rico and Colombia. Take this class to learn more about making your salsa dancing look stylish!

Each day, we’ll warm up with some ways to practice making your turns more balanced and clean, even focusing on a few techniques from ballet and jazz. Once we partner up, we’ll learn how to work together to make turns look sharp and stylish while still feeling balanced and comfortable. We’ll start with simple patterns to do together, and by the end you’ll learn all the points I know on how to do single, double, and stylish multiple turns without getting dizzy. Take this class to clean up those turns once and for all!
