A four-week series designed to expand your movement vocabulary to include elements such as sacadas (displacements), barridas (sweeps), ganchos (hooks), boleos (flying twists), volcadas and colgadas (shared-axis turns). Sequences will be built to map these components onto linear, spiral, and circular trajectories, and exercises will be employed to explore their physiological basis. Emphasis will also be placed on practice improvisation to link and blend these movement elements in order to enrich the interpretation of melodic and textural changes in tango music.
